The owners are Sarah and Fred,  who are dedicated to a truly organic lifestyle, working with nature, not against it. They strive to protect the existing environment by using sustainable farming techniques, just as nature intended. Seeking a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their children, Fred and Sarah Sterns left Mt Isa to take over Bendele Farm – Kilkivan’s successful turkey, duck and organic chicken business.

All of the chicks are hand-reared under heat lamps until they’re mature enough to embrace and explore the outside world. Once outside, they’re free to roam on the native and planted pasture, receiving a balanced certified organic diet and clean housing throughout their lives.  

The Farm’s certified organic chickens grow for an average of 80 days, which compares to as little as 35 days for commercially bred & raised chickens. This method significantly contributes to their incredible taste and associated health benefits.

The certified organic grains the chickens are fed consist of a mixture of wheat, sorghum, soya, grit and other essential vitamins & minerals.

All of our Organic chicken is:

Australian Certified Organic, which means are free from chemical pesticides, Steroids, herbicides, preservatives, antibiotics and genetic modifications.

Packed with essential nutrients such as zinc, protein, omega-3, vitamins B & C and many more.
